Thx Andrew! Another packed episode of Main Justice! Just when I thought last week was overwhelming, it’s only Wednesday!

THIS IS A COUP

Trump has granted Musk access to U.S. government computer systems. Once inside, they grant Trump control over critical information and the ability to start or stop all government payments.

THIS IS A COUP

This scenario is real and is happening. These actions constitute a coup. Granting private individuals, especially those loyal to Trump, rather than the government, access to federal computer systems to control critical information and financial operations bypassing legal and constitutional processes is a modern day coup. These actions undermine democratic governance, and give unchecked power to unelected individuals.

THIS IS A COUP

A coup involves the illegal or forceful seizure of power, often bypassing established legal frameworks. This is exactly what we are seeing.

THIS IS A COUP

Trump and Musk are overrideling governmental controls and centralizing power outside of constitutional authority. Therefore, these actions fit the definition of a coup in our digital age. What is happening, Musk andTrump taking control over U.S. government systems, is as powerful as taking control over military forces.

Why aren't the Democrats doing something

2muchtennis's avatar

They did they ran for president they lost and now we are in the FAFO stage isn’t this what the country voted for maybe people should be educated before they vote

Dorlin's avatar

Unfortunately, 77 million people eligible to vote decided to stay home and not vote!

2muchtennis's avatar

And there were lots of people who did not understand project 2025 who believed Trump and his fear mongering and they weren’t educated and now Trump has this country twisting and turning every day and this is not just up to Democrats to do something it’s up for the United States a nation Patriots to work together across the aisle to stop all of this insanity

Max Ty's avatar

Yes, so NOW WHAT do Dems do? We know the problem, there’s a madman, megalomaniac in the White House, arse-kissers in Congress. We have to get organized and everyone of us has to fight. Even if flooding your Congressperson with scathing letters and let them know the majority is coming after their seats.

That’s the past. What are the Democrats going to do moving forward. There must be something. One thing I believe is critically important that Democrats don’t do is blow their own horn or speak boldly, loudly and often about the danger of what Republicans do. That’s why so many Republicans falsely believe that Biden got rid of abortion, because he was President when the Supreme Court threw it back to the states.

So, again, what can be done about a lawless President, especially when the Supreme Court gave him carte blanche to commit whatever crimes he wants to commit?

Why cant someone arrest Musk and his aides? Just do it. Dont worry about whether it will stick, just go ahead and gave them arrested. It woild ve interrupting the process of takeover. I think thats what most people just dont get. Can YOU explain this, Andrew?/? Or gove a link to an explanation?

Hi. Noticed a typo (I’m a copy editor) in #2: “The is literally the inmates running the prison.” I offer this respectfully, knowing that this, at some level, is a trifle. But I expect you are as exacting as my lawyer friend who, regretfully, passed away very recently. I learned so much from him, both professionally and personally. I am loving your Substack, though now working backwards to catch up, a learning experience in itself. From this vantage point, the term, “firehose”, seems inadequate - sigh.

Keeping track of these illegal EO's and subsequent law suits, is a full time job.

Is anyone going to talk about what happens to software, hardware and networks when you change the software coding? What happens to maintenance and glitches and contracts on those systems without authorized access and beta testing?

Susan Salvato's avatar

Trump doesn’t know, doesn’t understand any of this and doesn’t care. He will simply continue to say no. Even to the Supreme Court.

Mr Weissman, can't there be a clas action lawsuit on behalf of American citizens whose confidential information is now under the control of non-government employees?

Dorlin's avatar

Andrew, thank you for your diligence! The work you, and Mary McCord, are doing is critical to keep us all informed. Knowledge of the facts and actions taken will be key for the next four years.

I applaud all of these legal push-backs, and I have an honest question: Are there enough lawyers and judges to handle all of the illegal operations being enacted (not to mention proposed) by Elon Musk with the complicity of his puppet stooge, Donald Trump. Who, btw, is more and more apparently mentally ill with megalomania?
