FBI Standoff
Behind The Headlines With Andrew Weissmann, Vol 2.2.c
Dear Subscribers:
This weekend saw the continued tension between the new Trump DOJ leadership and the FBI. Mary McCord and I break that all down, and put it in context of the other Trump authoritarian moves, in this week’s episode of our podcast Main Justice.

APPLE:
The DOJ, through the Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, fired a half dozen FBI senior leaders (without cause and against civil service rules). They also demanded a list of ALL FBI personnel who worked in any way on the J6 cases, in order to assess “personnel action” to redress what Bove described as a “grave national injustice.” That is the description of the people who were doing their jobs holding the J6 perpetrators — i.e criminals — to account. The is literally the inmates running the prison. To see the Bove direction to the FBI, click here.
Two lawsuits were filed yesterday in Washington DC federal court. They both challenge these FBI actions, and in particular the list naming names which could people fear would be made public so the Trump-pardoned J6 defendants and others could target those FBI personnel. We expect a hearing today on the plaintiffs’ request for an injunction. (The two judges are both solid–Judges Cobb and Kelly).
To see the effect that mass firings would have on the public, see this statement from Senator Warner, click here.
