It is beyond obvious that a full take down of Democracy is in play. The billionaires truly believe “ the masses are asses” and Democracy is a “flaw”. All will be privatized and split up to be run by overpaid rich. Trump is merely the “ perfect “ tool. Joe Average has shown to have little grasp of what this means.
Andrew, I’m so grateful to you and Mary for creating such a factually driven discussion. You’re my “go to guy “ in all matters dealing with the Trump administration legal cases! 🙏
I don't understand why they were able to deport another 17 men to El Salvadore Sunday night. Did they violate the TRO? And are they saying that once El Salvadore has taken custody of these men, there is no getting them back even if they were deported in error?
It seems the government's admission of an error would be further support for enforcing due process rights. Instead they just shrug their shoulders.
Most if not all state bar associations have ethics rules that prohibit attorneys from engaging in what might be deemed as retaliatory behavior. Have any complaints been filed with state bar associations against Administration attorneys alleging such?
This episode covered so many top-priority legal issues that I saved the episode to listen to again. Nowhere did I hear the word "extortion" but the mandatory "pro bono" punitive penalties are unwarranted constraints and would seem to be challenged on both levels. Would the firm have a "right of refusal" if for example, the case were a Supreme Court Constitutional challenge? I champion the "accused" law firms and universities that will stand up to the Trump administrations unethical, unconstitutional and coercive tactics.
I just downloaded Andrew's book about the Mueller investigation, "Where the Law Ends, Inside the Mueller Investigation". Yesterday I read Timothy Snyder's book from 2017, "On Tyranny". We need to stay informed as much as our brains can tolerate. I also have a small paperback copy of the US Constitution, with annotations. I'm not an attorney. This little book really helps as well.
After reading a particularly well thought out letter to the NYTIMES last week I’m beginning to look at the actions of this administration as a well thought out throw all the jello u have at all the trees at once strategy— after all they had 4 years to plan for how exactly they would take down our democracy. They don’t expect it all to stick as much as how much can we get away with if we do this as fast as possible.
Thanks Andrew and Mary for the updates and encouragement! The courts are still holding and it seems like they are straining at the seams but we are not giving up!
This episode hit like a lightning bolt. What stands out most isn’t just the number of legal battles—it’s the velocity and audacity with which they’re being launched. These emergency applications feel less like isolated legal disputes and more like coordinated stress tests of institutional limits.
The Alien Enemies Act case, in particular, feels like the constitutional canary in the coal mine. If courts allow the executive to bypass due process by citing national security and historical precedent, it sets a terrifying tone for what else can be done in the shadows.
Also appreciated your framing of the “law firm blacklist.” It’s not just vindictive—it’s a form of soft authoritarianism, reshaping who gets to participate in the legal process based on allegiance, not ethics or merit.
I decided to send Cory a monthly donation— he and other people defending our constitution and democracy deserve our support— so happy about win in Wisconsin— it bodes well for the midterms

Hope Innis is doing well. 💕💕
I listen to your interview on New York radio and it really help me understand exactly where we’re at right now. Thanks so much for all you do.
Thank you Andrew for being the voice of reason and explaining it all to us. You’ve been the person who in all the trump years made sense.
Upon reading these documents I must conclude that the administration has terminated its best lawyers and retained the worst.
Thank you for your commitment to clarify complex legal issues for the public.

That’s my big picture take.
This statement from Millett really stood out to me:
"I leave the merits of that argument for the district court to
resolve in the first instance. But the one thing that is not
tolerable is for the government to seek from this court a stay of
an order that the government at the very same time is telling
the district court is not an order with which compliance was
ever required. Heads the government wins, tails the district
court loses is no way to obtain the exceptional relief of a TRO
stay."
Thank you, Andrew.

Under demented trump America First has become America Only as other countries isolate us.
