Will you please address how “DOGE” seems to have taken over the US Digital Service (USDS), part of the Executive Office of the President, which I understand is how they are able to have some sort of official imprimatur to do what Elon and his minions are doing as “special government employees”. My impression is that DOGE has injected their virus into USDS, which ironically was established as part of healthcare.gov. Thank you!
Mary and Andrew educate listeners. I appreciate the factual considerations in legal events. American law is nothing like our Canadian system.
One day I'd like to learn why so many cases are appealable. Why are judges allowing it, is it expensive and therefore a biased loophole?
Also, I wish free appeals were offered to people with low incomes. While the effect may strain the American legal system, in the last decade too many lawyers have made a lifetimes earnings from the appeal process for certain rich people.
Some jailed convicts deserve a second judge. If one was hard leaning, the second be open to listening to the case. If one is too lenient, then allow another judge to hear the case.
Since judges are known to be predictable, it appears, allow an opportunity for a second opinion.
All I know is, going by media information, the wrong people are sentenced to jail while many criminals have their rights and freedoms intact.
