Will one of the legal gurus explain why trump as President is able to bring civil suits against others like ABC and CBS but others cannot bring a civil suit against him while he is a sitting President? If the legal theory is that a President should not be distracted with civil or criminal law suits while President then the President also should not be distracting himself by bringing and threatening law suits against others. It makes zero sense for courts to block civil suits against trump as president under this theory but allow trump to sue others and spend time so much time doing so. trumps constant suits and threats of suits against so many others while he is President seems to nullify any claim that a President cannot have civil and criminal suits brought against him or her.
Isn’t it true this country needs new heroes who can live and breath the visions of forming a perfect union that launched this country. Their sacrifice was not to enable the selfish greed and lawlessness of Trump and Co. Watching the show that Jim Jordan and other House Republicans put on during the public hearing was extremely disheartening. However, the contrast between Jack Smith and Jim Jordan was put on display. I choose true leaders like Jack Smith and Jaimie Raskin.

One question and that is as the Fourth Amendment is near and dear to your heart, Andrew, what are your thoughts, and what can be done with ICE being granted “permission” to invade peoples’ homes? I understand that is a clear violation of the Fourth Amendment.
It gives me hope that there still are real attorneys- Jack Smith- who have been in public service who stand up for the law of our country- and what it costs them to speak out and speak to the truth. Pay attention to what the truth is.

Jack Smith's opening statement brought tears to my eyes. It is as clear and heartfelt defense of authentic American patriotism as I can imagine. The "split screen" between Smith's calm, forthright, and nuanced self-presentations and the concurrent Truth Social posts calling him a "deranged animal" could not have been more stark. Whatever their motives, in allowing this hearing to be held in public the Republicans have done the country a great service by allowing people to see and judge the man and his evidence for themselves.
