Statutes regarding contempt of Congress and perjury haven’t gone away, only the will to enforce them. There is a 5-year statute of limitations for federal perjury charges, so we can no longer haul, say, Roberts and Alito into the dock for lying at their confirmation hearings two decades ago. Contempt charges have varying clocks depending on the alleged offense.
Oh yes, the confirmation hearings have to be included in this. I am still astounded and horrified by the confirmation lies that were paraded out, that helped to land us with these hideous Supreme court justices. Hey Ron - I'm almost 80 and completely agree...my parents and friends had respectful disagreements when it came to politics...but always courteously and respectfully...even when disagreements became a bit 'heated.' I don't remember any of our elected officials or any of us speaking about members of the other party so hatefully and disparagingly as Trump and his supporters do. Also, we didn't hear politicians talk about immigrants or their countries of birth in such ugly and hateful terms. There is hope...I watch my son and his wife and their generation teaching their kids to be kind and thoughtful with compassion, kindness and thoughtfully.

There were CHARGES for their large scale fraud and theft. BUT NO front page headlines, rare convictions or fines, NO JAIL TIME, NO RESTITUTION of EMPLOYEE PENSIONS. THIS opened the floodgates to criminals like tRump to lie, cheat, steal, rape and murder, around the world!
A small recompense was issued in the form of a 2005 comedy/crime film, FunwithDickand Jane, dedicated to the victims of the Health South Corp crimes.

When Trump first came on the scene and started talking about "draining the swamp", did anyone ever imagine that HE would become the most horrible swamp creature there has ever been?
Holding responsible those who have committed crimes, fraud, corruption, etc., for their actions in this administration would help dissuade possible future malignant personalities.
